Hi everyone, It’s Paul coming to you from sunny Melbourne. With only 3 more days until I leave, it’s actually starting to seem real now.
I think I have almost everything I need laid out now. Luckily Tim is able to bring some things from the US for me to help get me on the plane within my baggage allowance. (I’ve been granted some extra weight, but I still don’t think it will be enough). We just ran through the list the other day, and he sure is bringing a lot of stuff – including 2kgs cheese, 2kgs nuts, 2kgs dried fruit, heaps of muesli bars, etc (I don’t want to go hungry up there.) Last year Fiona and I had 170 kg between us.
On the News
Last week was a very busy one – especially as Channel 9 followed me around for 4 days filming my training. They even came up to Mt Donna Buang at 5am to film me training in the dark! For those in Melbourne, you can see this on tonight’s news at 6pm. Not sure how this is going to turn out….
Starting the Farewell’s
Last night I had a small farewell party with some family and close friends and realising that it would be the last time I’d see most of them for 2 or 3 months made me think about what I am about to embark on. I’m eager to get over there and get started, but it seems like there are so many last minute things to think of before I go that these last few days will be very busy. Guess I’ll sleep on the plane…
Hope everyone is well.
